Gone, but not forgotten

We all try and leave a piece of ourselves to remember when we are gone

There are many people who have left their mark on culture and society before they passed on. This year, there were many who left such a mark who also left us. Specifically, singers and musicians, actors and actresses.

Diane Keaton passed away at the age of 79 on Saturday October 11, 2025. Keaton was known for her roles in a handful of movies in the ’90s such as, The Godfather trilogy, as well as, Father of the Bride Part I and II, alongside Steve Martin. Keaton didn’t get her start then, that would’ve been back in ’68 on Broadway in a production of Hair, where she played the understudy for the lead. One of the main reasons why Keaton got a lot of attention from this role was because she chose to not remove any of her clothes for the role. Following the movies she acted in over the decades, Keaton also directed a documentary called Heaven in 1987, music videos as well as an episode of Twin Peaks. Keaton will always be remembered for her time on-screen as well as her exceptional fashion, wearing white and gloves whenever she could. You will be missed, Diane Keaton.

D’Angelo passed away at the age of 51 on Tuesday October 14, 2025. He was both an actor and composer. Some may know him for his roles in Scream 2 and No Strings Attached as well as his albums Brown Sugar and Voodoo. D’Angelo’s work left an impact on many people. Those who listened to his music like Bachir Miloudi, a second-year computer science and UX student, said, “The time that I found him at was the time that I really needed, it really helped me kind of, figure out who I am, kind of as a person … you find out, how deep you personally feel about lyrics of a certain song. That’s how I feel personally about D’Angelo. Basically, like, he made me feel, like, kind of, like, learn about a little bit more of my confidence.” Music has a way of speaking to people. D’Angelo, you will be missed.

Osbourne was known as the Prince of Darkness and as a key member of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath in the late ’60s as well as the movies he was a part of as well. You will be missed, Ozzy Osbourne.
