Laurier Brantford students can have a better sense of security with the new 24 hours a day, seven days a week access to the Special Constable Service.
Wilfrid Laurier University Students Union announced that Wilfrid Laurier University Board of Governors approved extended hours for Special Constables Service on June 23. The Special Constables Service is partnered with the Students Union, allowing students to voice any concerns about safety and security on campus.
“This will have a positive impact to students at Laurier Brantford. Constables will be on duty at all times and be able to address any issues or concerns that students may have,” said James Yuhasz, who is the Manager of Special Constable Service on the Brantford campus. “This will also have a positive impact on Special Constable Service staff. [It] will provide extra resources for Constables, enhance opportunities to continue to develop strong partnership with students, staff and faculty.”
With the growing Laurier Brantford student population requires more and accessibility to resources for students and faculty. Laurier in Waterloo provides a greater amount of services to the students in comparison to the Brantford campus. The new Special Constables Services hours is one of the services provided equally across both campuses.
