We are closer to liberation
Than previous generations,
Though a movement of suppression
Dares to threaten
The progress intended.
These perceptions of women
Marred by misconceptions,
Blurs our futures
And dampens our spirits
Distracting from our purpose.
The illusion of power
Is only designed to empower
What was once hid,
Because feeling intimidated
Was too much to bear.
But we know who we are
And of what we are capable,
Our strength must overpower the noise.
There is no need to regress,
It is forever ahead.
Anything less is a disservice.
Let us eradicate the notion of reversibility,
The world should be awakened by our audacity.
The right side of history must unfold unselfishly.
So let us march on,
As one beat, together,
In unison.
