Last Wednesday, a man by the name of Matthew Clifford Marshall, 22, was arrested and charged with robbery involving a firearm on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Police found a modified .22 caliber rifle in his backpack with an abundance of ammunition, which had been used at the robbery.
The victim of the robbery was trying to locate his girlfriend when he was robbed at gunpoint. He was led into a residence on Sheridan street, where he was then robbed.
The suspects left the scene in a vehicle, which the Community Patrol Officers later found.
Marshall now faces multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm and breach of probation, as well as many other criminal code offenses that are connected to the unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Marshall is currently being held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing. Marshall was not the only one involved in the armed robbery, there was a 16-year-old female also taken into custody for unauthorized possession of a firearm, but she was later released. The female will later attend a court date, due to being released on a promise to appear.
Roger Vanevery, 29, was also charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm. Vanevery was subsequently held in custody.
A third male suspect fled the scene, identified as being involved. He is currently at large and is wanted for several criminal code offenses.
