My name is Tanya O’Connell (she/her) and I'm an investigative journalist at The Sputnik. I joined The Sputnik as a former licensed private investigator and corporate law clerk. As a student in my final year of Laurier's Master’s program in Social Justice and Community Engagement, my objective is to bring marginalized voices to the forefront of the stories I report on. As a student, a single mom and a front-line worker at a homeless shelter and a federal correctional facility, I don’t have much free time. Fortunately, writing is one of the many joys of my life. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to grow as a writer at The Sputnik.
